What information is collected?:
We use IP addresses, browser type, ISP, referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. KCHiLiTES.com uses "Lives Stats" Statistical Server to analyze web traffic and generate reports from IIS logs.

Our site uses session and persistent cookies to keep track of your shopping cart. When cookies are enabled, your information is stored on a password protected secure server. User name and password are required to retrieve previous information. When cookies are not enabled, your information and items placed in the shopping cart will not re-appear after you exit the shopping cart. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our site.

When shopping on our site, we use an order form for our customers to request information, products and services. We collect contact information from you such as your name, email address, billing address, shipping address, and telephone number for shipping purposes with our primary third party shipper UPS. In addition name or business information, credit card payment information, and a password is collected for online orders.
Credit verification is done online through Authorize.net, a third party credit verification and authorization system. However, they are not allowed to use your personally identifiable information in ways other than listed in this privacy statement.

How information is used:
We do not sell or rent your personal information to others. We use customer information collected only for the purposes of filling orders, contacting purchasers to inform them of their order status, enhancing the operation of our site, statistical purposes and to administer our systems. If a problem regarding product, billing or shipping information is detected, we will contact you via email or by phone to resolve the issue.

Testimonials or photos submitted to us may be placed on our site for others to view. We will not post identifying information such as last name, address or other contact information.

Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with an appropriate law enforcement investigation, current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site.

Tell-A-Friend:
If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend’s name and email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. KC HiLiTES stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email [and tracking the success of our referral program].

Choice/Opt-Out:
Information collected is for order fulfillment only, including email address. We will only send you service related emails regarding your order. We do not send any promotional or newsletter emails at this time. Service communications are necessary to provide the requested service, therefore, we do not offer the option to opt-out of these communications.

KCHiLiTES.com gives users the following options for changing and/or modifying information previously provided.

You can change or edit your account password by clicking on the "My Account" link on our web site's home page. You can have your account deleted by contacting us through email at: info@kchilites.com Attn: Webmaster or by contacting us directly.

Security:
KCHiLiTES.com has several security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. There are several parts to this security. A few of them are:

· Network Security:
Keeps control of who has access to the companies network. This is taken care of by our ISP and is controlled through the use of sophisticated routers and firewalls.

· Server Security:
Limited to the security built into the operating system and consists of user IDs, passwords, and permissions. A properly set up UNIX system, coupled with the network security, can be very secure.

· Data Protection:
Data protection refers to:
How the data is protected while being transferred to the server from a consumer. How the data is stored on the server.

KCHiLiTES.com uses SSL to encrypt the data from the consumer to the merchant's server and then uses authorization software to encrypt the data that is stored on the server. This requires a great deal of math to encrypt and decrypt the order information.

When we create your encryption key, we are essentially creating two keys that need to be matched up to download orders from our store. This set of keys establishes end-to-end security of customers' credit card and order information.

The "public key," the key stored on the Internet server, is used to encrypt (scramble) all the information that is sent to the order log from our order form. Since this information is stored on the Internet until we download it to our PC, it is important for all of the information to be encrypted. When we are ready to process the orders, we will use the "private key," stored on our PC, to decrypt (unscramble) the order information. No one but authorized KC HiLiTES personnel has access to the private key. We use our pass phrase to access the private key and download your order into readable text.

Notification of Changes:
If we are going to use your personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify you via email or by prominent posting on our homepage of this web site. You will have a choice as to whether or not we use your information in this different manner. However, if you have deleted your account with us then you will not be contacted via email, nor will your personal information be used in this new manner. In addition, if we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect user information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on our web site 30 days prior to the changes, notifying users of the change.
